Thea Brandvold

Founding attorney, audits and tax debt

Thea has represented people in IRS audits and collection for most of her career, first at a larger firm and now on her own terms. She started Tally Law because clients kept asking her the same question on the first call: what will this cost? Now the answer comes before anything else.

How Thea works

Thea handles the firm's audits and most of its tax debt work. She is the one on the video call when an examiner asks a hard question, and the one who writes the closing review you get at the end.

Before law school she worked in a small accounting office, which is where she learned to read a return the way an examiner does. She still starts every audit by reading the return line by line, before she reads the letter.

Outside the office she runs the greenway trails along Walnut Creek and keeps an overambitious vegetable garden.
